Woman Dumps Three Of Her Children Into River

A 24 year old woman only identified as Winnie dumped two of her children into Nzoia River in Kakamega County western part of Kenya last night moments before she jumped into the river with the 3^rd child she had tied on her back.

Winnie left her sister’s home where she was staying at around 9m deceiving her kids that she was taking them to buy something at the shop. She instead proceeded to the bridge and asked the kids to close their eyes before pushing one by one into the water taking the same jump to her death.

After pushing the two, one girl hanged on a branch which led to her survival. The girl who is in Standard two narrated the ordeal when she tried calling for help while holding a weak branch.

‘She grabbed our hands and pulled us into the river. As soon as i reached the middle of the river, I clutched onto a stick and stumbled to it, as I was crying calling for help, ‘said the young girl.

Magoma Alice the sister to Winnie, said she came to stay with her after she got some misunderstandings with the husband.

‘She stayed with me for over a week and I never saw any serious problems with her. Even her husband passed by and picked her yesterday, but they got misunderstandings on a text message. I requested her husband to come back next time when she’s calm, ‘said Alice.

In the evening, she was okay chatting and relaxing. I even left her to prepare supper but when I returned back I was shocked to find nobody in the house. She had not told me anything not even her plans,’she added while crying.

The bodies for the 2 kids and the woman are yet to be found.
