Woman Laments After Her Friend Charged Her Ushs 63k For Food She Ate At Her House

Can you Imagine someone you know as your friend willingly invites you for dinner at her house and after enjoying the meal, she tells you to pay for the food you enjoyed before leaving.

This was the same scenario with The Brighter Side podcast network host Amber Nelson who was invited for a casual dinner by one of her friends.

She took to her Twitter page and shared a hilarious statement saying her friend prepared Penne alla vodka, a pasta dish, which she took a couple of servings.

“Got invited to someone’s place for dinner and they charged me for it….this is weird, right? This makes me not want to accept offerings in the future,” she tweeted.

However, after enjoying the meal, the American woman said she was shocked when her friend slapped her with a $17 bill (equivalent to USh 63,000) for home-cooked food.

Amber said she had nothing to do but to pay the bill and since then she hasn’t spoken to the friend again.

“If I invited you over and said “I’ll cook,” I would never expect payment. That was my choice to host. I would be thrilled if you brought a bottle of wine or a dessert. But if I was short on money, we’d have discussed it prior to the event and done a potluck.” Wan Kenobi said:

“This happened to me, the guy even wanted to charge us for the spices he used to make the food (he broke down the cost for us to see lol).” Eriina Ileen said:

Elsewhere, a Kenyan woman identified as Mkenya Sheila narrated that when she was pregnant back then in 2005, she sat in the living room one evening waiting for her housemaid to bring supper to the dining table.

At an indefinite time it felt like the food was taking longer than it should. She became curious and decided to get to the kitchen and investigate.
