“My name is Angela; I am 44 years old. When I was on campus, I was this type of a bad girl, I dated older men for money, and I was a party animal. I slept with lecturers in exchange for good results since I had no time to study.
I did countless abortions and, at one point, started using long term family planning methods. My past has come back to haunt me.
Things took a drastic turn in my early thirties when I finally decided to settle and build a family; this was after I realised most of my age mates and friends had settled.
To cut the long story short, I just broke up with the fifth man I have married in twelve years, the reason being I can’t get children; I have tried many hospitals, put on treatment. The situation has literally remained the same.
I am heartbroken, desperate, and I am contemplating suicide; I no longer find any joy in this life,” she posted on social media.
The moment she posted her life story on social media, a storm of reactions soon emerged. Many social media users sympathised with her while others told her off, saying she deserves the misfortune.
“Mshahara wa dhambi ni mauti, pay for your sins girl.” One comment read.
This woman’s story is just one, however, there are countless numbers of women who are desperately trying to do everything within their power to conceive. Why they can, well, they lived a destructive youthful lifestyle. And like they say, everything you do comes with consequences.
