You Must Make Friends If You Want Power- Nobert Mao

The DP president Nobert Mao a few days ago announced a social media war against NUP. He has now decided to cease-fire and offer a little bit of advice to the Kamwokya based party.

Mao advised NUP that if they want power, they should learn on how to make friends.

He added that if NUP’s goal is to annoy the one clinging onto power, then they should employ a social media army of ‘bavumi.”

Furthermore, Mao said that he still shudders when he recalls how NUP supporters insulted the Kabaka and Katikkiro of Buganda. This was over a land dispute.

“If you want power you must understand its contours. If your goal is to annoy and irritate the one clinging to power, then just have an army of Bavumi on social media. I still shudder when I recall how the Bavumi insulted HM the Kabaka and the Katikiro of Buganda over a land dispute,” Mao said.

Through the comment section, NUP supporters started denying ever abusing the Kabaka. Mao however said that he could even post those insults. He however said that NUP is full of people with bad manners that just practice bad politics.

He then said that a leader has to take control over his followers. This is because such people are likely to be a menace when they take power.

“I may decide to post here the unspeakable insults the demigod’s professional abusers hurled. We are not just talking about bad politics. We are talking about bad manners! A leader has to rein in on his followers. If such people take state power, they will abuse it like never before,” Mao added.

Some even asked Mao what he did when he was in Parliament. He however said that there is no substitute for experience and knowledge.

According to Mao, one has to set goals and assign roles. It was from him that Security minister , Jim Muhwezi almost got censored over torture a few days ago.

Mao then concluded by advising NUP to rule over its supporters and make friends. Short of that, it should forget about capturing state power in 2026.
