The Coldest And Snowing Countries In Africa

 AFRICA- Lesotho located in Southern Africa is the coldest country in Africa, it covers 30,355 sq km (11,720 sq mi). It is the only independent state in the world that lies entirely above 1,000 metres (3,281 ft) in elevation. Its lowest point of 1,400 metres (4,593 ft) is therefore the highest in the world.

In Lesotho, temperatures in June goes around 0 Celsius and regular heavy snowfall is common in the higher mountain ranges.

Lesotho is basically a mountaineous country, it has the highest low point of any country in the world. In every year Lesotho has a skiing season which runs from June to September.

Marocco ( North Africa )

Another cold country is Morocco in North Africa, You can plan a skiing vacation there if you want, the Atlas Mountains get continuous snowfall in winter months from December to February. There are two ski resorts in Morocco where snow is always a must to fall, Oukaimeden and Mischliffen and visitors always rent equipments for skiing.

Sutherland ( South Africa )

Sutherland is definitely cold during winter season from June to August. It lays claim to the coldest winters in the country. It always freezes a lot more during the night, sometimes as low as -16 degrees Celsius, and the place gets heavy snow numerous times every winter season.

Sutherland is proved to be the coldest town in South Africa with temperatures going well below freezing throughout the winter. However the town lies 1500 meters above sea level and it is commonly known for its snow in winter season.
