16-Year-Old Mother Poisons Her Daughter

Police at Amuria Central Police Station in Amuria district is holding a 16-year-old mother in their custody. It is alleged that the girl poisoned her 18-month-old daughter.

Inspector Ronald Omaido, the acting District Police Commander (DPC) confirmed the story to reporters.

The suspect is a resident of Ocanai village in Asamuk Town Council in Amuria district. Omaido added that they arrested the suspect on Monday. He also said the mother will remain in custody as the police investigates the matter.

Meanwhile, the suspect who spoke to reporters confessed that she poisoned the child due to lack of parental support for it.

She also said the father of the child passed on and the family also failed to support the child hence forcing her hand.
