Shisembe sub-location assistant chief Mike Shivanda confirmed the incident according to an OB report filed at Shinyalu Police Station seen by media sources.
It was reported by Mike Shivanda, the assistant chief, Shisembe sub-location, that two men had collapsed and also lost consciousness. This was within Munyolo village in Murhanda location approximately six kilometres north of the station.
“Officers visited the scene and found two men, Nicholas Abung’ana, a Luhya male aged 50 years, and Alexander Savala, a Luhya male aged 50 years lying in their houses, unable to speak or get up,” part of the report said.
Doris Achitsa, 65, is the old woman whose pig thugs stole. She had reportedly employed Abung’ana as her handyman at the farm. Achitsa is also a cousin to Savala and the police found him unconscious. He is one of the suspected thieves.
According to the OB report, the disgruntled woman had sought assistance from a Bungoma-based witch. The witch visited her home and performed his rituals before leaving.
“At around 19:00 hours, the two men collapsed. The witch had left instructions that no one should take whoever gets affected to hospital. But leave them in whatever state he or she will be in till morning when he will come back.
Their relatives insisted that they adhere to the ritualist’s instructions. Case PUI progress report to follow,” it added.
