Africa Now Conference 2019 Soon Starting In Kampala

Africa Strategic Leadership Centre (ASLC) the global think tank has unveiled its inaugural Africa Now Conference in Kampala.

Dr. Robert Mwesigwa Rukaari, Chairman, Board of Directors – Africa Strategic Leadership Centre says the High- Level meeting taking place from 12th to 14th march is poised to be a convergence of Heads of State, foreign investors, CEOs of African and multinational companies, youth leaders and prominent civil society organization representatives to discuss and dialogue on pertinent issue like climate change, conflict in the region and trade.

The Africa Now 2019 Conference is centred on the theme, “Towards a secure, integrated and growing Africa”.

His Excellency, President Yoweri Museveni of the Republic of Uganda will be co- chaired by African Heads of State together with key business leaders on the continent.

Participants will deliberate and thereafter, agree to a set actions to address key bottlenecks which impede Africa’s economic and socio-growth.

Babigumira William Conference Coordinator says the conference seeks to build effective Youth-Business Alliances, address youth employment, build and sustain the future of Africa.

“The main objective of the Conference is to contribute effectively to the broader conversation around economic transformation, investment and trade growth as well as employment in Africa. The conference aims at four intermediate objectives designed to facilitate the connection between high-level decision makers with influencers across the socio-economic spectrum of Africa as well as showcasing investment opportunities available within industry, agriculture, tourism and the digital economy, ”Babigumira stressed.

The conference has attracted over 1,000 participants ranging from Business Forums, media and CEOs among others.

The Africa Strategic Leadership Centre is a collaborative initiative of leaders from the public and private sectors, committed to growing Africa’s economic opportunities through research, policy-dialogue and leadership.

The ASLC is also committed to delivering high quality and relevant evidence based research to inform public-private sector actions on opportunities as well as policy actions on a range of issues such as trade, economy and regional integration, climate change, peace and conflict on the continent.
