President Museveni Attended The 32nd African Union Summit In Addis Ababa

The Ugandan president, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni attended the official opening of the 32nd Ordinary Summit of the African Union Heads of State today in Addis Ababa.

I congratulate His Excellency Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi for his election as the new chair and join others in thanking outgoing chair, His Excellency Paul Kagame, for a job well done,’’said Museveni.

Later, he met the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, on the sidelines of the AU Summit.

We discussed a range of issues including regional peace, security and human rights. The SG assured me that the UN base in Entebbe will remain vibrant even as the organization undertakes reforms,’’he added.
