According to the singer, politics in Uganda happens every 4 months prior to the general elections and 3 months after. After that, people should know that life goes on and then concentrate on other things.
However because people are consumed by these politics, they always miss out on the most important things in life because they see everything from a political angle.
The Katono singer went ahead to highlight why Eddy Kenzo’s festival sold out. This is due to the fact that they don’t politicize everything.
He further said that for instance when he’s helping kids to go for heart surgeries, he doesn’t probe their guardians’ political ideologies.
“I think people need to stop catalyzing politics in Uganda. It always happens 4 months or at least a year prior to the general elections and 3 months after. There is much more to life than politics. When will you work, or have kids in you’re consumed in politics. For instance, you even start seeing your beautiful wife and kids through political lenses. Kenzo’s concert and mine do sell out because we don’t politicize anything there.”
Bebe then rallied the media to spearhead this message. He added that the media has the power to build or destroy.
Therefore, the way they craft their message in regards to politics and music should be weighted not to cause any damage.
