The UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been advised to self isolate after he came in close contact with a person who was confirmed to have contracted Coronavirus. This was after a 35 minute meeting held between Boris Johnson and the conservative MPs.
The purpose for this meeting was to address rising concerns of the reappearance of Covid in Downing Street.
Apparently, the prime minister stood next to Lee Anderson, Mp of Ashfield who tested positive for coronavirus. The two were less than two meters apart and also didn’t have masks.
When the media tried asking why they were not wearing their masks, the health Secretary, Matt Hancock said the building they were in doesn’t require one to wear a mask at all times.
About the Prime Ministers meetings however, he will still have them but via zoom. This will go on until two weeks go down to confirm whether he is positive or negative. Seven months ago, Boris Johnson tested positive for Covid-19 and got admitted to ICU. His condition was so critical to the point of going to Intensive Care Unit.
The four other Conservative MPs self-isolating following the meeting include South Ribble MP Katherine Fletcher, Warrington South MP Andy Carter, Great Grimsby MP Lia Nici and Bassetlaw MP Brendan Clarke-Smith.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock will hold a news conference later in the PM’s absentia.
There is a myth that when one contracts Covid and heals, they can’t get it again. However there have been incidents where people have actually got the virus again.
This simply means that everyone should equally be vigilant and overly careful.
