According to Deputy Spokesperson of the UPDF Deo Akiiki, the UPDF soldier helped to successfully deliver the newborn on the roadside in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda.
Akiiki also assured the new mother whom he identified as Doreen Tukuzirwe and the baby was in good condition. He further thanked the brave officer who is also a UPDF medical clinical officer.
Sergeant Baguma Richard, a UPDF is also a clinical medical officer delivered a baby on the road side. This was in Queen Elizabeth National Park 20kms away from the health center. The mother was however in the second stage of labour alongside the road.
“Doreen Tukuzirwe, the mother and baby are in good health. We also appreciate Sgt Baguma for the heroic act. Thank you Baguma. This is what describes UPDF,” the deputy spokesperson posted with a touch of pride.
