Budget Is Good But We Want To See Implementation – Hon. Omara Paul

The Otuke Constituency MP, Hon Omara Paul has said overall, the national budget that we are running with in 2022-2023 financial year is good. However, the implementation is what is most important in all this according to him.

“In the Financial Year 2022/23, we are also going to secure money for women entrepreneurs. Overall I think it’s a good budget. We just want to see the implementation.”

He said what stood out for him in the budget is the parish development model. He says people will receive money directly, and they will have to decide what activity they want to engage in. According to him, it means even people in the villages will take charge of their destiny.

Hon Omara Paul says if the budget is well implemented for about three years, the country will improve quickly.

“If we manage our debt carefully and implement the budget well for about three years, this country will improve quickly. Debt is a big issue, but comparatively, when you look at our brothers in the region, we are still in a safe position. We are still okay.”

However, most people are not comfortable with the parish development model. According to them, it looks like another handout kind of program to keep the NRM party in power but keep Ugandans in poverty on the other hand.

“But for sure…why do we make sense of the things we shouldn’t? …. This budget thing? Do you think we interested in it…the answer is no….” a one Imdude said.
