Busoga United apparently behaved in a very unprofessional manner during the abandoned game at Kakindu against Express FC recently. Therefore , the FUFA Disciplinary Panel would not let such behavior go unpunished.
The home fans were guilty of throwing stones at match officials which forced the game to prematurely come to a close. This followed Allan Kayiwa giving the Red Eagles a lead late in the game.
“Busoga United has been sanctioned for breaching Article 31 of the FUFA Competitions rules,” read part of the statement signed by Deo Mutabazi.
Busoga United ended up losing the game by forfeiture according to the statement. This is also in addition to the three points and three goals deduction from what they accumulated this season.
It has further been handed a 5 home match ban and these games will be played at closed and neutral stadiums away from the eastern region.
Meanwhile, the club’s chairperson, Diana Nyago, has also been summoned to the disciplinary committee for further investigation.
“Match reports indicated that Ms. Nyago Diana denied Express FC access to the dressing room. She also exchanged abusive words with the coaches of the away team. She further denied the kits man of the away team access to the field of play at about eight minutes to warm up time,” the report revealed.
Busoga United now slip to 14th position with 3 points while the Red Eagles climb to 5th with 14 points.
The Red Eagles equal points with BUL. Vipers and SC Villa and are three points away from table leaders BUL FC.
