However, those were the first-generation Vista Sport earbuds.
Now, the Vista 2 earbuds are an upgrade from the previous ones that feature a very familiar design as the first generation.
However, these new ones come with a price tag of $200 ($50 more than the first-gen) with newer features missing on the first ones.
The two major upgrades on the new earbuds are active noise cancellation and a transparency mode called SurroundSense. Active noise cancellation is a common feature in some earbuds on the market today like Apple’s Airpods Pro.
This feature disables noise coming in from the outside world so one can clearly hear the output from the earbuds.
The SurroundSense mode allows you to hear the outside world while you listen to your music or watch a movie. Therefore, in case you are listening to loud music in public and you are crossing the road, you can still hear a car arriving or honking from behind you.
The design aspects;
On the design part, the company added more fabric to the outside of the buds to cut down wind noise, this can be seen as a dampener. They also have an IPX68 water-resistance rating, meaning they are both dustproof and fully waterproof.
According to Jaybird, the new buds are sweatproof, crush-proof, and also drop-proof. The company also touted about the ability to track the earbuds in real-time saying the Ios and Android Jaybird app can track the case even though the earbuds are inside and the case is closed.
The battery life for the buds has been estimated to 8 hours with the active noise cancellation off. And about 6 hours with it on. The case has both wireless charging capabilities and the USB-C type charging port.
It also holds an additional two full charges for the buds. Those who reviewed it also said that a 5-minute charge will get you an hour of battery life on the earbuds.
Lastly, the earbuds feature a pair of microphones in each bud enabled with beam forming technology. This makes it much clearer to use during voice calls.
