A Kenyan man requested court to intervene in his marriage issue with his wife, he wanted her to return home but court dissolved the marriage.

The man in Garsen, a small town in Tana River County in Kenya experienced shock when a Kadhi court cancelled his one year old marriage which he tried to save with all his effort.
Besides ending the marriage, the court also ordered the woman to return the dowry the husband has paid.
The couple got misunderstandings over the woman’s dressing, which the husband said was against Islamic doctrine, and her failure to perform daily prayers.
The Kadhi’s court leader in Garsen Mr Mohamed Mursal closed down the marriage and directed the woman to return Kshs50,000 and the cows her husband brought during the introduction wedding.
In his judgment, Mr Mohamed said that he made such a decision after finding that attempts to save it via a different mechanism to resolve disputes, as ordered by kadhi’s court, had failed.
The court also ordered the man to pay Kshs1000 every month for child support.
The woman was ordered to wait for at least one month from the date of judgment to get married to another man, in regards to the Islamic Sharia law.
In her defense, the woman denied accusations that she disobeyed Islamic doctrine through her dressing. The man threatened to kill me and he assaulted me on several occasions,’she said.
She however said the monthly child support of Kshs1000 is not enough.
