Kenyan Runner Eliud Kipchoge Named World Male Athlete Of The Year

Kenyan popular runner identified as Eliud Kipchoge has finally been named the world male athlete of the year, a few weeks after winning a marathon that took place in Austria’s capital Vienna.

The Kenyan athlete surprisingly won the coveted medal for the 2nd year and he made a record becoming the only athlete in the world to have run a full spectacular marathon in less than 2 hours.

The World Athletics Federation made the announcement and shared the good news on Twitter.

During his acceptance speech, Eliud Kipchoge said he was excited to have made a record in marathon history, he continued by saying his accomplishment would be huge inspiration to the next generation.

Some fans expressed confidence that the Kenyan record runner would win the award even before the World athletics body made the announcement.

Kipchoge who is known for leading very simple life also has a reputation for modesty and discipline, attribute which have powered him to became globally famous.
