According to Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, all the security that they deployed played a role in the success of the day. The deputy army spokesperson, Col Deo Akiiki, last week informed the public about the readiness of the army. According to police, some people were plotting to stop the swearing-in ceremony. For this matter, security authorities deployed men in and not in uniform all over the nation. More especially, the deployment was in Kampala and Wakiso.
Enanga also commended Ugandans for the peace they displayed that day. They never got any serious case of striking till now. However, the military surrounded the homes of Besigye and Kyagulanyi. This happened the day before swearing-in.
