Enanga Hails Security For Their Services During Museveni’s Swearing-in Ceremony

Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga has hailed security officers for the good services during Museveni’s swearing-in. Despite all the threats from the opposition, he says he is proud they secured the function without any incidents.

“We are pleased the swearing-in ceremony went on safely and incident-free. We successfully protected the new president, invited heads of state and other dignitaries to the function. Also, we express gratitude to our security personnel for the good job they did,” he said.

According to Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, all the security that they deployed played a role in the success of the day. The deputy army spokesperson, Col Deo Akiiki, last week informed the public about the readiness of the army. According to police, some people were plotting to stop the swearing-in ceremony. For this matter, security authorities deployed men in and not in uniform all over the nation. More especially, the deployment was in Kampala and Wakiso.

Enanga also commended Ugandans for the peace they displayed that day. They never got any serious case of striking till now. However, the military surrounded the homes of Besigye and Kyagulanyi. This happened the day before swearing-in.

Meanwhile, the police spoke person says the successful swearing-in is a sign of democracy.

“The successful swearing-in is a sign of democracy and that reflected the will of the electorates to their president is.”

Museveni swore in for his sixth term as president of Uganda on the 13th-May-2021. He is currently among the longest-serving leaders in Africa.
