NRM spokesperson Rogers Mulindwa has highlighted the reasons why opposition political party, FDC is currently embedded in chaos. Mulindwa says that they are reaping the seeds of chaos they planted.
It should be noted that the Najjanankumbi-based party has two factions clashing. These have so far labeled very serious and damaging allegations against each other.
According to Mulindwa, the FDC planted seeds of chaos to destabilize the NRM. However, as karma would have it, they are the ones reaping it now.
He added that the blue party had another problem of lack of ideology. The party was built solely on overthrowing Museveni, which is impossible.
It should be noted that the Forum for Democratic Change has had quite a number of changes over time. It started with the stepping down of it’s founder Dr. Kizza Besigye from the presidency.
This left a gap that needed to be filled but also created room for leadership fights. This saw Mugisha Muntu part ways with the party and start his own. Patrick Oboi Amuriat then assumed the leadership of the party. It however, now appears in be in another crisis that might divide it even further.
“FDC is now reaping the fruits of the chaos they planted to affect NRM, but it’s now affecting FDC itself. One of the challenges FDC is facing is the fact that they didn’t have a realistic goal. When they were starting, they promised to remove President Museveni, which was a very unrealistic goal.”
He went ahead to say that even up to now, the party has never been patched up ideologically. For NUP, the NRM official said that it was started on a regional basis. Its goal is therefore to serve the interests of some politicians from the central region.
