Fortebet Gives 100 Expectant Mothers Free Mama Kits

Fortebet, Uganda’s first and only betting company that allows one to place a bet that wins up to 1 billion shillings, on Monday brought a smile to the faces of expectant mothers in Lira following a donation of mama kits.

100 mothers at Lira Regional Referral Hospital in Lira district each got a fully packed mama kit to prepare them ahead of their upcoming labour period. The donation was delivered to the hospital by Fortebet’s Media Manager, John Nayumba together with the resident staff and received by the hospital Senior Principal Nursing Officer, Judith Nanyonjo.

“One of the goals of this government is to completely eliminate deaths at birth. One of the ways of doing this is by equipping expectant mothers with all they need to have before and during labour time. Fortebet would like to be part of this drive to end deaths and this is the main reason we have brought these kits,” Nanyumba said while talking to the expectant mothers who had gone to the hospital for antenatal care on Monday. In her message, Nanyonjo said, “On behalf of the hospital, I want to sincerely thank the management of Fortebet for extending this most needed donation to our expectant mothers. This is a government hospital where services are free, so this donation has come to the right place and the right people. We need more because more mothers will always conceive. Thank you Fortebet!”

Fortebet also donated 3 big trash cans, scrubbing brushes and detergent to help keep the wards clean.

Away from the hospital, Fortebet visited all its branches in Lira, Aduku, Apac and Pader and rewarded its customers with phones, club jerseys, T-shirts and caps while many boda boda riders were rewarded with reflectors jackets.
