They were initially called Da Twinz before they rebranded to The Ganda Boys.
The duo tried different styles of music while hustling but later went to do other businesses. They started doing music as a hobby not for money like other musicians do.
The two men even relocated to the US to look for greener pastures. Although they are most of the times far away from their home, as Baganda people, they never forgot where they come from.
With the love they have for the Kabaka and their culture, they couldn’t stop singing. They soon started teaching the Buganda anthem ‘Ekyitibwa Kya Kabaka’ to people around theoir neighborhoods. They formed different choirs in different states and recorded themselves singing the anthem.
Their fans back home were so happy about it in that they shared it until it reached the prime minister Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga.
With the joy and excitement of the Ganda Boys spreading their culture all over the world, Katikkiro rewarded them with land.
However, this land will not benefit them personally. It will benefit the whole country as it is for the theater and museum.
“We’ve been allocated 5 acres of prime land to build Buganda’s Theater and Clan Museum. Our campaign to conserve Buganda’s Music and Dance is underway. The selection process (choir) is on. We shall soon be announcing our media Partner. Awangaale,” they posted.
