The reason as to why these health centres are going to be established in the country, it’s because of the sexual desires and the challenges they experience to access health services as well as the high HIV condition rate among the gays.

The Homosexuals in Zimbabwe have their Association which they described as Gays and Lesbians Association ( GALZ ).

Facts from the National Aids Council says heterosexuality is the main transmission path for the new infections of HIV, while the homosexuality in Zimbabwe presented huge obstacle for gay people from accessing health services associated with HIV.

These drop in clinics are reportedly going to be set up in Mutare, Bulawayo, Kwekwe and Gweru.

The director of NAC Evaluation and Monitoring, Mr Mpofu Amon noted that the Gay Health Centers will be called’’MEN HEALTH CENTRES’’ to enable other men to access health services.

We are trying to help the Gay community to be able to access medical services because they have always been discriminated,’’said Amon.

The Gay drop in health centers will definitely help to create non-discriminatory space.
