The deceased was a student at Gathara Secondary School in Kinangop Constituency.
According to Njuguna Kiiru, a village elder, the deceased was bitter when her phone went missing and even complained to his cousins.
He further noted that she complained to her friends that her mother had grabbed her phone.
“She spent the whole day without the phone and was very bitter about it. She complained to her cousins and friends that her mother had taken the phone,” Kiiru said as quoted by Daily Nation Kenya.
According to her mother, the turn of events was shocking as her daughter looked jovial and even prepared supper for them and never complained to her about the missing phone.
“She was in good terms with everyone. She prepared supper and served us before heading to her room. She never mentioned the disappearance of her phone to me,” stated the deceased’s mother.
She noted that she learnt of her death when she didn’t wake her up, as usual, prompting her to check what was a miss.
On reaching her room she found her body dangling on the roof.
“I am in pain because she was my only child. I do not understand why she decided to commit suicide, leaving me childless,” the mother noted.
Her body was taken to Nyayo Ward Hospital mortuary in Engineer Town by the Njabini police station officers.
