In this era, social media and technology, in general, has taken over all aspects of life. People are going to school, work, make money through the internet.
However, the internet especially social media also has bad effects, especially on young children. There is a lot of content that is uploaded every day and usually, it doesn’t protect those under age.
There are also other businesses that take place on the internet like selling drugs and watching adult videos. All these may not protect children.
Unfortunately, so many parents don’t check their children’s phones to see what they always watch or do on their social media platforms.
As a parent, Betty Nambooze said the young generation is facing so many challenges especially when it comes to social media.
She said there is no one that takes the time to teach children how to use social media. When they get data, decide to go everywhere even to things that ain’t important.
According to Betty Nambooze, parents should be cautious when they are giving their children phones. She said they should take time to teach children how to safely use social media. Õtherwise they will end up messing.
“Omuntu yenna awuliriza sala amagezi gonna abaana bo bayige okukozesa emikutu gya yintaneeti mu bulungi,” she said.
