Iuea To Receive A Charter Next Year

International University of East Africa code named the Technological University of Choice is set to  acquire a charter.

According to IUEA Vice Chancellor Dr Akaezuwa Emeka the university management applied for  a charter early this year from authorizing agency National Council of Higher Education and ministry of education.

“we applied for a charter this year and we hopefully be granted a charter on 2020,”Emeka said.

Started 8 years ago, International University of East Africa has already  earned global recognition  as Africa Technological University of Choice for its niche of providing an excellent education that includes practical experience and skills.

With students community coming from 40 African countries, IUEA  through technological and innovative courses has produced graduates who are Impacting  society  in agriculture, energy, entrepreneurship and development of applications that have not only resolved Africa problems but provided solution to society.

Premised on the mission to provide an excellent education that includes practical experience and skills for the development of Africa, IUEA Vice Chancellor Dr. Emeka Akaezuwa says management is living up to the mission.

“Today our University and our students are recognised and respected all over the world, demonstrated excellence, diversity, flexibility and professionalism. Iuea has acquired this stellar reputation because it has focused on some basic but important aspects of education, critical thinking, pairing of theoretical concepts with practical knowledge how and our method practice with innovative and entrepreneurial form, “Akaezuwa said.

He adds that IUEA has acquired reputation for technological prowess through the numerous solutions its students and staff developed. These innovations have shown practical mastery of robotics, artifical intelligence, autonomous systems, cyber security, computer networks and engineering.

Iuea students have won numerous national and international awards for the quality work and tracer studies have shown that over 83% of iuea Graduates are employed.

“Our method of teaching and innovations resonate because they are geared towards solving real world problems. Our innovations have targeted areas such as agriculture, climate change, transportation, engineering, Internet of things  smart cities, digital currencies and secure systems to name but a few, ”

But was quick to add,” As modern responsive academic institution, we believe in the philosophy of continuous improvement to align our teaching programmes to information age.

Plan for 2020

According to Vice Chancellor IUEA has applied for a charter and hopefully will be granted a charter in 2020.

Secondly we are venturing strongly into the areas of machine learning and space studies. This year we have been chosen as one the universities to provide space studies in Uganda.

Asked why iuea is unique, “our work in robotics, machine learning and space are not just for theoretical learning and bragging rights but for  solving real world problems in the areas of agriculture, food production and climate change. We move our technologies to market, create entrepreneurship opportunities for our students and jobs for the youth, “Akaezuwa emphasized.
