Joan Kagezi, the acting assistant director of public prosecution, was shot dead on Monday evening

Senior Principal State Attorney Joan Kagezi has been reported dead .The two killers were travelling on a motorcycle, they shot her dead at a round 7:00am and it was a planned assassination.”said Patrick Onyango ( kampala police spokesman ).

Joan Kagezi was taken to the hospital but died on the way.

Kagezi was shot dead around a place called Najjera while driving the judiciary car back to her home and her death was confirmed .”Said Ms kajjuga ( DPP) spokes person.

Ms Joan Kagezi was highly involved in prosecuting a high profile case of the July 2010 kampala 13 bomb suspects that are accused of killing 76 people.

Last week the US government said it had received information of terrorist threats in the capital city locations especially where Americans gather.

The US government had warned of a possible terrorists trying to enter the country.”said the government of Uganda, however, was under threat because its contributing a lot to the African Union mission fighting al-Shabab inside Somalia,”said the spokesman.
