Joshua Cheptegei Returns, He’ll Meet Museveni After Quarantine

The world’s 5,000m record breaker Joshua Cheptegei who broke Kenenisa Bekele’s 5000M record on Friday 14th August 2020 at Monaco Diamond league has returned in the country and embraced by very many Ugandans who put aside Politics and COVID 19 aside.

Cheptegei returned on Saturday afternoon via Malaba border. He was escorted by Uganda High Commission officials in Kenya and warmly received by Uganda government officials headed by Tororo RDC.

His record left many Ugandans very excited and inspired to join athletics. This is the first achievement Joshua Cheptegei made in the World History of Athletics.

Therefore, our golden boy has returned back in Uganda with a lot of respect after breaking the World record. He is going into self isolation at his home town in Kapchorwa as a directive to prevent the spread of covid19.

Fortunately, the record breaker  will be hosted by the president of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House to honor, appreciate and reward him for raising the Ugandan flag.

“Thanks for representing our motherland, chaiii my motherland, why are you so quiet?? Then M7 will give Kusasira, full figure, the so called artist millions while others get peanuts,” One of the Ugandans posted.
