Juliet Nalukenge Finally Joins Uganda Crested Cranes Camp

The well-known lethal striker Juliet Nalukenge has been called up to the Uganda Senior Women’s National Team (Crested Cranes).

She received the invite as the team prepares for the forthcoming Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) Qualifiers.

Juliet Nalukenge who now plies her trade with Apollon Ladies FC in Cyprus, is now part of the Crested Cranes’ provisional team, along with the addition, the team added two other players from the U20 Women’s National Team.

The two players are Shakira Nyinagahirwa and Hadijah Nandago. Apparently, the trio had not appeared on the initial squad of 27 players when they summoned them on Monday.

However, they have since joined the camp and are starting training today at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

Earlier, Nalukenge had to move back to Cyprus after helping Uganda eliminate Kenya in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

Immediately after the game, she traveled back to Entebbe International Airport only to be told that her visa had expired.

They put in place plan to have her travel on Monday bearing in mind that they will play the AWCON game during an international break. FUFA then moved quickly to ask the club to first leave the player around.

Uganda will face Ethiopia on 20th October at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende and then a return leg in Bahir Dar six days later.

The winner on aggregate will face either South Sudan or Kenya at the final qualifying phase.
