In an effort to provide medical health commodities during covid, Chinese based company, KPC COTEC Medical Company (KCMC) has unveiled plans to start manufacturing medicine and face mask in Uganda.
The Uganda based company that owns an industrial park in Mukono aims to increase access to specialty medical services and advanced diagnostic services.
This was disclosed by Jason Lee the company’s General Manager while handing over face mask to national covid response team ministry of health.
Health permanent secretary Dr. Diana Atwine thanked the Chinese partners for supportive the response saying this will go a long way to addressing commodity shortage.
“This donation will address the current need for commodities country wide as we scale up our interventions. The face mask will also assist our police officers and other staff guarding truck drivers at border post,”she said.
Jason said under COTEC Medical Hub (CMH), they plan to offer medical services including but not limited to: Radiology, Imaging, Laboratory, Gynecology, Dentistry, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, ENT, Oncology, Urology, Cardiology,pathology and Nephrology.
He however announced plans by KPC cotec to recruit staff to expand its services.
“KCMC seeks qualified candidates to fill various positions at our industrial park. They will be responsible for the overall coordination and supervision of activities and delivery excellent medical services in the clinical section in accordance with national and international policies and standards,”Jason said.
He also said they will oversee on-site training tor health care providers, mentorship and builds capacity of technical staff for the setting up and running clinical services and track progress and provide advanced care and consultation services to patients.
