Man Who Got Lost When He Went To Buy Rice Finally Returns Home 47 Years Later

A Kenyan man from Nakuru County who got lost while going to buy rice at the shop for his family has finally returned home after 47 years.

Mr Mwaura James, now a 70 year old man who comes from Molo village, Nakuru County, disappeared 47 years ago finally found his way back home, thanks to social media.

Mzee Mwaura disappeared when he was just 23 years old in the year 1974 after being sent to buy rice at the shop for his family.

Citizen digital reported that Mwaura got lost on the way, he surprisingly found himself in Kenya’s capital Nairobi without a coin and no relative to turn to as he found out that his older brothers who were living in Nairobi City had also moved.

He then traveled to Naro Moru in Nyeri County, where he started a new life and later found the love of his life whom she met there.

After many years of disappearance as he was navigating through his Facebook account, he came across a seemingly familiar face.

He sent a message in that person’s inbox, who turned out to be one of his nephews.

Both had a serious conversation and agreed to meet on Wednesday, 21st July, before the family reunion happened the following the day.

Mwaura who is now an old man, arrived home in a blue suit and informed the family members that he is happily married and blessed with 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

Muktyala Girijamma, 60, had reportedly “died of coronavirus” in May. Her nephew, Nagu, told reporters that they tried to visit her at Vijayawada Government General Hospital on May 15.

However, they told them that she had died and had to be cremated.
