Man Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison For Defiling 13 Year Old Girl

A man of about 45 years has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for defiling a 13-year-old girl.

The Kenyan man identified as Odongo Ogendo Joseph was declared guilty by Homa Bay senior judge Simiyu Lester for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl on 22^nd July 2017 at Shauri Yako Estate located in Homa Bay.

The suspect also faced a different charge for touching the genitals of the young girl.

On addition, Odongo appealed for leniency and asked for forgiveness saying he has a responsibility for looking after his family.

After listening to witnesses that testified in the lawsuit, the senior magistrate however concluded by saying the defendant committed an evil act and deserves a disincentive punishment.
