It’s now almost a week since the thug violently fired seven bullets into his stomach and leg, but even as we talk right now, Muema is in critical condition at Kenya National Hospital (KNH).
The victim left his home in Sunton, Kasarani at around 10pm on Tuesday last week heading to his place of work where he is employed as a freelance writer, managing to earn a living to support his wife and twins.
According to his brother, Makau Wilberforce, Muema briefly went to his friend’s shop to buy air time before heading to work, which stop over almost ended his life, but fortunately left him nursing severe gunshot injuries.
His brother told media that Muema is a freelance writer who normally works during the night.
Before this man entered the shop which is said to be offering M-Pesa services as well as selling other items, there were two ladies who were seen in the CCTV footage trying to communicate with the shop attendant.
When one of the ladies left, Muema also entered the shop and as he tried to wait for the shop attendant to serve him, two criminals shockingly walked in.
As one of the thugs was concentrating on the shop attendant, Muema quickly jumped on the gun holder, hit him on the head, prompting the thug to aimlessly shoot at him as the thug ran out, according to the reports from Standard media.
