Several months after his story trended, a university in the US offered him a scholarship to pursue his post-graduate studies. On Sunday, August 1st, Michael Taiwo went on Facebook to write about the cassava farming graduate, and to inform people that he has finally arrived in the United States.
He described Nworie as a mathematics genius who once won a gold medal in the Nigerian national mathematics competition. When they met, Nworie revealed that he would have had to work hard and save for seven years to apply for graduate school.
The man thanked people who contributed to the cause of seeing Nworie have a better life abroad. He attached a photo of the young man smiling when he got to his new country of residence.

In separate news, a man has narrated how he rose from being a kitchen cleaner of a university to a senior lecturer in the same institution. Ntsikelelo Pefile, a professor at the University of Cape Town (UCT) said his first job at the university was kitchen cleaning. At the time, his aunt was a domestic worker in the residence of the vice-chancellor.
