The instruction from president Museveni came shortly after meeting the lawmakers of both Parliament and the prime minister’s office , that’s where he unveiled a 12 point security plan, following the murder of Hon Ibrahim Abiriga.
The president acknowledged that Members of Parliament are under extreme fear and intimidations as they think they could be easily be attacked any time, this has prompted the president to tighten security as they wait for the security systems to be implemented effectively.
The president however begun mentioning the recent assassinations of Joan Kagezi, Major Kigundu, Muslim Sheikhs and many others who were killed in similar ways, according to Nile Post.
Part of the president’s letter reads that,,’’For that reason, I direct you to quickly buy a fleet of armored four wheel drive pick-ups. Prepare extra money for these vehicles immediately. They will be used by army to guard the MPs, and when the security measures are implemented, these armored pick-ups will be handed over to the Army officers as part of the fleet of Uganda People Defence Forces.
