Museveni Orders Universities And Tertiary Institutions To Wait For Another 3 Months

President Museveni has advised universities to wait for another three months before opening. National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) had sent out that message in a circular.

The council actually advised schools to carry on but with online classes until they reac a final decision.

“The president has guided that all Higher Education Institutions should continue studying online for at least another 3 months. This is so as to enable government find a lasting solution,” The statement read.

They emphasized that they should not find any universities open for non candidates or finalists. However some schools had already invited their students back given the fact that things seem to be getting better. This means that right now each and every school has to embrace e-learning because students can’t miss on another year of education.

E-learning however is going to be very hard given the times we are in. Currently internet is almost shut down because the government has not yet restored the use of OTT. Not only this but also the costs of data are way too expensiveanf not all Ugandans can afford it.

The most alarming thing actually is that not all students can afford to access the internet because you need gadgets in good condition.

Its been a very long and unwanted holiday for the students and if the ministry of education doesn’t find a solution, very many students are going to drop out of school system to hopelessness.
