Musicians Dump Cindy’s UMA As They Converge Under Kenzo’s UMF

It seems a majority of Uganda’s A-list musicians have decided to ditch their long standing umbrella the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) in favor of a new federation they formed recently known as the Uganda Music Federation. This follows several a number closed door meetings. Furthermore, the final declaration was made recently at singer, Dr Jose Chameleone’s birthday.

Big Talent boss Eddy Kenzo was named the president of this federation. He will be deputized by former TNS singer Sheebah Karungi. Pallaso and Juliana Kanyomozi will also deputize as the first and second vice presidents respectively. Veteran singer Big Size Bebe Cool will serve as the Finance Minister of this new federation.

According to renowned events promoter, Balaam Barugahara, this new umbrella was inspired by OWC boss, Gen Salim Saleh. He added that this new federation will help Ugandan music to shine and grow beyond borders.

“Congratulations to Uganda’s Music Industry (Artists) for being able to successfully Federate. Congratulations to my brother Eddy Kenzo upon being elected President of Uganda Musician Federation. My sister 1st Vice President Queen Sheebah Karungi, 2nd Vice President Pallaso, 3rd Vice President Juliana Kanyomozi & Brother Bebe Cool Finance Minister.

With this Organization the Music industry will shine & grow beyond borders. It’s a Big Win for the Music Industry. General Salim Saleh & Afri Aid headed by Madam Esther Akampumuza, You will remain in Uganda’s history book as Heroes to the Sector. GOD BLESS YOU ALL,” said Balaam Barugahara.

However, for now it’s not clear where this leaves the Uganda Musicians Association headed by Cindy. Ever since its formation, it has been hindered by several rifts amongst musicians.

This giant move could definitely be the last nail in the coffin in ditching it. This is because this new federation has all the crème de la crème of musicians. Consequently, UMA can now be described as a lifeless association.
