These actually threatened not to vote her if she doesn’t do so. This is because according to her, the people she represents are afraid of the message coming from certain opposition politicians.
She added that she and her people are afraid to go back to war. This is after seeing the northern region ravaged by wars in the post Independence era.
According to these people, President Museveni is their only guarantee that the region will remain stable.
“In 2016, I was told by the people where I come from that I must support H.E Museveni. They said they were scared of messages coming from a certain section of the opposition that might lead us into another war. We don’t want to go back to war,” said Hon Amongi.
Betty Amongi who is also the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development said that no transition in Uganda can happen without Museveni.
Therefore, if the opposition political parties realize this, the process will become easy. This is because they will sit down and see if an agenda can be drawn.

The first son, Muhoozi, has actually shown that this transition talk is unnecessary. This is because he’s ready to take on the mantle of the presidency from his father.
And if he delays to bestow it upon him, he will go head to head with him to ‘make his mother proud.’
