When they got home to J Apartments, the officer is said to have shot his wife dead before he got into his car and turned the gun on himself.
According to a traffic officer, the bodies of seven were moved to the morgue.
‘’He inflicted injuries on the wife’s neck before he went to his car and he put the cock of the gun before his chin and fired,’’ an officer told reporters.
By press time, details on why the officer shot and killed these people including his wife were not yet revealed. However, detectives from the crime unit had moved in to gather evidence and unravel the mystery.
The case has yet again put the National Police Service in the limelight following a similar incident in the past.
This happened in July when Caroline Kagongo, a police officer, killed two men by shooting them in a span of 24 hours.
Her first victim happened to be her own colleague, John Ogweno at Kasarani Police Station in Nakuru County.
She then fled with her gun to Nairobi and later to Kiambu where she killed her second victim, Peter Ndigwa, a security analyst.
She remained at large for one month and finally, her body was found in her parent’s bathroom in Anin, Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
