NBS TV Addresses Accusations Of Poaching Competitors’ Staff

For a number of years now, Naguru-based TV station NBS TV has been accused of poaching their fellow media competitors staff. However, the Deputy CEO of the station, Joe Kigozi said that they are just the best in the land.

Everyone therefore wants to work with them as they easily attract them. Therefore, the accusations can keep flying in as their brand keeps growing.

“People have accused us of poaching. We are simply saying we are the best in the industry. It is inevitable that the best will aspire to work with the leading Group, Next Media Services,” Kigozi said.

A number of years ago, NBS was on the brink of collapse. They hardly attracted any viewership as most of their presenters quit the station.

However, after gaining control of the station, Kin Kariisa transformed it into arguably the best in the country.

However, one of the accusations that they have suffered is failure to groom their own presenters. They instead entice the already established ones from their rival stations.

Kampala Serena Hotel-based TV station, NTV, has suffered the most at the hands of Kariisa. A number of TV presenters such as Andrew Kabuura, Douglas Lwanga, Sheilah Gashumba, MC Kats, Joel Khamadi, Rukh-Shana Namuyimba among others have all been through the NTV-NBS exodus.

Meanwhile, a recent viewership survey by IPOS ranked NBS and its programs as the leading brand in Central Uganda.

Its programs such as NBS After 5, Amasengejje, NBS Live At 9 beat other programs from rivals by far. And running through the social media pages of all the NBS affiliated media, its an achievement they are hugely celebrating.
