Never Do Business To Seek Relevance, Do Business To Create Legacy

Today I’m writing this post dedicating it to a new business or to start ups. As usual I use my personal experience to explain my message to you.

Don’t worry about rushing to be popular, don’t loose your integrity in pursue of relevance. It’s not about what they say about you but your true meaning of defining yourself.

Never do business to seek relevance or to prove a point but do business to create a legacy. Do not rush to associate with big boys especially when you do not have anything to offer on the table. You will be easily consumed in a big bond and fail to swim out. When they speak of million value projects while you are still trying to manage $500 worthy project, you may loose focus or get discouraged. I would rather advise you to learn from a distance.

When I started my business, I was concentrating on doing what I know best, the results themselves spoke volume and people started to recognize me.

I remember in 2015 when I was first invited as a guest of honor by the ministry of education under Zvishavane district, I was motivated about such an acknowledgement. I delivered my speech under an umbrella, guess who was holding the umbrella, the education inspector.

Then newspapers started writing about us. At first it was not important to me because I didn’t see its importance. Then they keep writing, my recognition started to grow. I was invited to national television for an interview, this is when I realized that my existence was felt.

I had senior people in the community, government even cabinet ministers starting to visit me or call me. I never knew where they got my number.

What I am trying to say is that, I never put much effort on seeking relevance, only what I did was to do my work and give it all. I was working hard to impress my customers and making money.

Now that I have become popular not only in Zimbabwe but in Africa, this kind of relevance has opened huge doors for me. People that I am able to meet and interact with, if I am to say their names here you will not believe it.

It all started in the village of Mberengwa in the Midlands province of Zimbabwe, not even a town.

Here is my advice;

1).You don’t need to be in the city in order to make it in life. You can make it right where you are.

2). You don’t need unnecessary attention or fake it to be on top. Anything that is not genuine eventually it will reveal itself.

3). Do want you know best and concentrate on delivering. The world is watching and they will celebrate you when it is due.

4). Don’t do business to look rich, do business to be rich and accumulate wealthy.

Don’t crave for publicity, better appear in news once a year but for good reasons. I am happy to that I am the winner for Business Person of the Year Award.
