Nigerian Boy Who Was Accused Of Witchcraft And Left To Die Finally Comes Out  A Winner

A Nigerian boy identified as Hope who was rejected and left to die on the streets of Eket Akwa Ibom State Nigeria and found by a Danish national Anja Ringgren Loven finally wins in life.

According to reports from Mirror, when the young boy’s pictures showing his emaciated body appeared online in 2016, it caused an uproar.

The pictures soon attracted the attention of Anja, the founder of a charity organisation DINNødhjæl. Anja found the boy in a sorry state and decided to take care of him..

In her reports, Anja also noted that the boy’s chances of surviving the multiple diseases he had were slim as he was hospitalized for weeks.

Anja’s charity organization found it within their authority to rescue the young Nigerian boy. Hope is not the first person that Anja’s organization has helped, she has helped quite a number over eight years.

Ever since the charity rescued Hope, they are giving him a good education and feeding. They are making sure that they see him transform into a lively-looking and strong child.

Child trauma

Speaking about how the boy reacts to his old photo, Anja said:

He will often point at it and smile as if he is proud. But I know it’s not about pride. Children are born with the ability to forgive.

Children are born with no prejudices. It is when children are taught what to think and not how to think, we fail as a society…”

According to her, Hope’s parents left him on the street after accusing him of witchcraft. Anja conclusively noted that it is lack of education fuels superstitions in most parts of Nigeria.
