Nigerian Pastor Charged For Preaching Gospel Without Permit

A 39 year old Nigerian pastor identified as Ifeanyichukwu Ezeking Joseph together with a 35 year old Kenyan lady Kawira Alice have been charged in court for preaching the gospel without being permitted or authorized.

Ezeking and Ms Kawira are reported to have engaged in gospel evangelism in Meru and Embu County on various dates between January and September and without being authorized or permitted.

Ms Kawira was accused for nurturing the Nigerian pastor in her house knowing very well that he was breaking the law by preaching without permit.

During their appearance before the principle Magistrate Ngigi Evanson on Wednesday, both of them were charged with blocking police officers who wanted to apprehend them in Meru.

The duo pleaded innocent of the 3 accusations and each of them was freed on a Kshs100,000 (UGX 3,500,000 ) bond.

The case will be heard on 30^th January 202o.
