North Korea has a shoot-to-kill policy in place to prevent Covid-19 from entering the country. The North Korean patrol boat discovered the man and then took him for questioning. A superior soon called and ordered the man’s killing.

South Korea recently said the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has apologized over the killing of the official. Kim Jong conveyed an apology in a message to South Korea which cited the incident calling it ‘unexpected’ and ‘unfortunate’.
It’s unusual for the North Korean Leader to apologize to the rival on any issue. South Korean officials condemn North Korea for this atrocious act. They also demand those responsible be held accountable.
According to Seoul, a man disappeared from a government ship that was checking out potential unauthorized fishing. This happened earlier this week on Monday a day before his body reappeared in North’s waters.
In the past, North Korea would return people wandering in its territories. But it also has a record of handing severe punishments for breaking the law. North Korea has liberal use of the death penalty. They also carry out public executions.
