Ongaria And His Wife Apolot

She walked into the house and Ongaria was busy dancing to the late Ojebe’s song “Iyamainos iayamain.”
The music was so loud that he didn’t even notice when she walked in. She went straight to the Bluetooth speaker and switched it off.

“Why are you disturbing the whole neighborhood with this lousy music. I am sure this is all you have been doing all day. See the whole house smelling like we rare dead ratsf” Apolot said, clutching her nose.

“What did you do that for? Like what’s wrong with you? All you had to do was ask me to reduce it and I definitely would have” Ongaria said in defence and walked to the other side of the room…

Life has been grumpy for Ongaria since he lost his job at Stanbic bank Soroti and Apolot didnt make things any easier for him though. She picked on him at the slightest chance she gets, Making him look insignificant.

There was this one time his friends came visiting and he offered them drinks, huh, she just came out from the room and carried everything and gave them a warning not to come over for drinks here anymore as she’s the one buying them…

“So you lost a job, you couldn’t go out there to get another one? Which sensible man plays loud music like this? What are you celebrating? 2 years of joblessness? I cook, pay the rent and take care of your sorry ass. I am extremely tired of this marriage I swear.I see men out there wooing me on a daily basis and I turn them down because I have a jobless lunatic of a man who uses his strength only in the other room. Ongaria I am tired”

Apolot shouted.

Ongaria was mortified, yes, she’s insulted him in the past, infact she insults him on a daily basis but saying she has other men wooing her broke him. .

“Apolot, have you forgotten so soon? That I gave you the very job you have now? The car you are driving now that you never let me use anymore because according to you I can’t afford fuel, I bought it. And here you are, standing, wearing the very same kitenge I bought for you the day I proposed to you and you are telling me you have other men wooing you? You think joblessness makes a man less attractive? You think I can’t be in the arms of another woman who will give me comfort and a job too? But hey, that’s not what I am all about. I absolutely love my wife” He said amidst tears..

“Jobaloo, you can blab all you want but I have families to feed, my salary is not meant for my husband but myself, my mind is made up, I can’t do this anymore. I can’t even buy make-up anymore because I am taking care of an overgrown baby “

She went into the room and packed all her stuff, she even pushed him when he tried to stop her. He begged and begged but she wouldn’t budge..

“Ongaria, get out of my way, my mind is made up, someone is waiting for me outside,” she said.
“You are so angry that you have forgotten today is your birthday. Your anger wouldn’t let you notice the envelope and the car Key on the table.

I was dancing because i just got a huge contract and i was paid 500 million shillings to start. I bought you the car to say thank you for taking care of me all this while. I thought you were happy with me even though you insult me atimes. But its okay if you still want to go,” Ongaria picked up the keys and went outside..
Apolot is still rooted in one spot like “Lot’s Wife” She never came out of the house
