Plan For Your Retirement While Still Being Employed – Asan Kasingye

Former Police AIGP Asan Kasingye has advised all people to plan for their retirement while still in private employment. Speaking to the media, he said that most people usually think that they will be hired forever. However, by the time they realize it, it’s too late.

According to Kasingye, he used to sign 2-year contracts while serving as the AIGP. It later hit him that one time his contract would not get renewed.

Therefore, he decided to start his Tayari Security Firm. This was his retirement plan and it’s paying off. He said that the reason he chose this field is because he had a background in security and most people knew him for that.

“I would advise most people to start planning while they are still in active employment. There are always many opportunities. However, if you don’t take them, you will realize when it’s too late. You have to know that someday that contract will not be renewed. It’s also good to invest in a field which you are well acquainted with. For my case, I chose security because I had a background in it. And most people got to know me from there,” he said.

Additionally, he also revealed why he is a common figure in the public domain despite retiring. Kasingye said that he’s a darling among the youth and he helps mentor many of them.

This is because he has many youthful kids. Besides, when he was young, many older people helped to mentor him. That’s why he turned out to be successful. Therefore, he can’t turn away from young people and his door is always open to them for any assistance.
