Police Approves New Technology To Capture Fake Car Stickers

The Joint Security Force warned all Ugandans who started opening shops without being told and even those who went back on streets to sell non-essential goods. Police urged that such an act should stop immediately or else will be arrested.

According Fred Enanga the police spokesperson, cameras have captured video clips and therefore strict guidelines have been put in place and should be complied with. Meanwhile, the cops in Kampala Metropolitan area has impounded 125 cars and 57 motorcycles. The cars were found with fake stickers alleged to have been received from Ministry of health.

Fred Enanga said that an ISO operative identified as Ariong Steven was caught and arrested together with a Pakistani national Sabil Ali for selling fake stickers between UGX150,000 and 300,000. The stickers were mixed with those (original) for ministry of health as a logic to prevent them from being identified easily.

The police has therefore received an electronic machine that will help them scan codes on the stickers,’he added.
