Two Kenyan police officers have been apprehended after inmate escaped from custody due to circumstances beyond their control.

The two police officers, Ndunde Lodric and Thairu Mario from Kakamega Police Station were on duty by the time the suspect Akuteka Simon, 35, escaped from custody on Friday.
The prisoner was arrested and charged for possessing a suspected stolen car.
The suspect was detained at Kakamega Central Police Station till next week as police continues with investigations.
The mobile phones of both police officers have been confiscated after finding out that one of them had talked with the prisoner’s wife before escaping.
Police has already launched a manhunt for the escapee to make sure he’s brought back to custody and face charges accordingly.
