President Yoweri Museveni yesterday in his national address on security in the country condemned the closing of discos in Kasese district in the wake of the ADF attack on Lhubirira secondary school.
According to Mr Museveni, Ugandans love partying and closing the night life is against their lifestyle.
He added that his ‘bazzukulu’ cannot be closed down and prevented from partying. And therefore, they should be left alone to party dusk to dawn Monday to Sunday.
Museveni further said that the ADF is not a threat because they were defeated a long time ago. They now can’t operate in groups but as individuals.
“I saw some RDC closing night discos. No, Ugandans like partying. You cannot close the bazukulu. We shall discuss the ADF issue. Let the bazukulu enjoy the nightlife, but tell me what to do when an issue arises. We defeated ADF long ago. The fact is that they can no longer operate in military groups; now they operate as individuals,” he said.
Museveni said that these terrorists will be brought to book. He cited how those who were killing people in Masaka post elections were apprehended. Apparently, dogs were used and according to the president, dogs can never go wrong.
In his address, the President also sent out a strong warning to the Daily Monitor. The President has never had a liking for the Nation Media Group newspaper.
He said this newspaper is full of foreign agents. It is also used to to make assumptions that Uganda is failing. However, he has now sent people to monitor it since he knows who it is working for.
