President Museveni of Uganda on Monday engaged in a fruitful discussion with a prominent leader from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan regarding the potential for investment in various sectors.
This meeting, focused on bolstering economic cooperation between the two nations, highlighted the shared commitment to fostering mutual growth and development.
During the meeting, President Museveni and the UAE leader exchanged views on a range of investment prospects. Both parties expressed enthusiasm about exploring opportunities in key sectors such as infrastructure development, energy, agriculture, tourism, and technology.
However recognizing the immense potential in these areas, the leaders emphasized the significance of collaboration and partnership in harnessing the benefits for their respective countries.
The discussion underscored the UAE’s keen interest in investing in Uganda’s infrastructure, particularly in transport and energy projects.
The leaders recognized the importance of well-developed infrastructure in driving economic growth and pledged to work together to enhance connectivity and improve transportation networks within Uganda.

They discussed opportunities for joint ventures, knowledge exchange, and technology transfer to enhance Uganda’s agricultural productivity and boost exports to international markets. The tourism sector was also a focal point of discussion.
Recognizing Uganda’s rich natural beauty and diverse wildlife, the leaders explored avenues for promoting Uganda as a preferred tourist destination.
They discussed the possibility of UAE investments in hospitality infrastructure and initiatives to enhance tourism-related services, including marketing campaigns and capacity building.
Additionally, the leaders highlighted the importance of technology and innovation in driving economic growth. They emphasized the need to foster collaboration in areas such as information technology, e-commerce, and digital transformation, which would contribute to job creation and enhance Uganda’s competitiveness in the global economy.
