According to Komakech, Museveni’s prophecy of having no Opposition by 2026 is slowly coming to fruition. He said that an example is what’s happening in DP which also happened to UPC.
Christopher Komakech also lambasted the Opposition by saying that they should stop misleading the public. These pose as saviors yet they also want to share the national cake.
“President Museveni is a smart man. He said the opposition would be no more by 2026. What’s happening in DP happened in UPC sometime back. The opposition should stop misleading Ugandans. They all want to eat,” said Komakech
The MP further made fun of the coalitions made by the opposition in the country. He said that these are meaningless and can’t drive the members anywhere. He then cited the coalitions in Kenya.
According to Komakech, those are the true coalitions because they always deliver results in the neighboring East African country.
“In Kenya, they have had meaningful coalitions. The Rainbow coalition that brought Kibaki and Odinga, the Jubilee coalition that brought Uhuru, and now the Handshake coalition that is likely to bring someone,” added Komakech.
It should be recalled that a few days ago, the opposition met at Hoel Africana. These then issued a joint statement in regards to the electoral injustices they have faced in the recent past.
This was in the wake of the Soroti City East By-election which was controversially won by the NRM’s Herbert Ariko.
And contrary to what Ugandans had expected about as a coalition by the opposition, the different party heads refuted this. They said that it was just a statement and not a coalition.
JEEMA’s Asuman Basalirwa even said that Ugandan coalitions yield nothing. Therefore, his party is not going to be part of any coalition although they are willing to work with other opposition parties.
